Important to the project is the ability to provide a variety of means to impact as many people as possible as no one is immune to suicide, burnout, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders. A population health approach was chosen.

The coaches help employees recognize symptoms of stress including but not limited to feeling irritation, anger, or denial; feeling uncertain, nervous, or anxious; feeling helpless or powerless; lacking motivation; feeling tired, overwhelmed, or burned out; feeling sad or depressed; having trouble sleeping; and having trouble concentrating.

It is critical for employees to recognize what stress looks like, to take steps to build resilience and cope with stress, and to know where to go if they need help. The project team knows about stress-related disorders, compassion fatigue, and burnout and is prepared to connect employees with appropriate resources and care when necessary. Brief interventions are provided to promptly address issues and concerns, as well as provide a quick connection to resources and/or care.
